We have just made sensitivity measurements as defined in OCT : the sensitivity is a measure of the smallest reflectivity detectable with the system. Of course this strongly depends on the source used (average power) and on the detector used (SNR, sensitivity, dynamic range). This made the sensitivity measurement a difficult value for comparison between different set-up , but this is a quite accepted parameter in the OCT community. The measures we give here are realized in a non spectroscopic configuration of our system. For the spectro-tomographic configuration with the same illumination a -20dB should be taken into account.

  • sensitivity measurement with a CCD USB Sony detector type UI-2410M and a supercontinuum generated in the femto-second regime : 95dB
  • sensitivity measurement with a CCD USB Sony detector type UI-2410M and a supercontinuum generated in nanosecond regime : 80dB
