The « MIMENTO » technology center
The « MIMENTO » technology center
MIMENTO (MIcromanufacturing for Mechanical Engineering Nanosciences, Thermics and Optics) is the microfabrication technology centre of FEMTO-ST and also one the six major facilities of the French national network of micro and nanotechnology centers.
As a FEMTO-ST general service, MIMENTO has beeing developing in recent years in order to keep improving the quality of the microfabrication services it offers both to FEMTO-ST researchers and to national laboratories.
Procedures for hosting “exogenous” scientific projects from other laboratories have been developed and many laboratories took advantage of the services MIMENTO provides. The technology center is also opened to industry via the CTMN (Centre de Transfert des Micro et Nanotechnologies) with which the institute has been working constantly for fifteen years.
The construction of additional clean room facilities was planed in the new building “TEMIS Innovation”, also known as “Maison des Microtechniques”. Following the building inauguration at the end of the year 2005, the installation of 400 m² of clean rooms has been started. The first technology operations are due to start at the beginning of 2008.
