Fabrice Devaux was born in Caen, France, on December 27, 1967. He graduated from the engineering school in Orsay (Ecole Supérieure d'Optique) in 1991 and then he received his Ph.D Thesis in nonlinear optics from the university of Franche-comté, Besancon, in 1996. His Ph.D was carried out at the Optics Laboratory P.M. Duffieux on optical parametric amplification of images. He currently is working as a professor at University of Franche-Comté in Besançon. He is involved with theoretical and experimental investigations of optical and quantum imaging using optical paramtric ampification and spatial photorefractive solitons in lithium niobate crystals.
