It contains an (somewhat personal and rather mathematical) introduction
to Bayesian probability theory applied to
parameter estimation, decision theory, and Kalman filtering.
This PhD in Physics was awarded on December 19, 1994,
by Paris XI University, Orsay, France.
The dissertation contains an extensive treatment of incoherent shadow-casting
correlation and constrained multicriteria optimization of correlation filters.
Some parts of the material are not published in regular articles.
