Mention spéciale du jury sur le salon Micronora 2016

Le département d’Optique de l’Institut FEMTO-ST en partenariat avec la centrale technologique MIMENTO a développé une nouvelle technologie de fabrication de membranes fines électro-optiques avec une scie circulaire de précision. Grâce à des paramètres de découpe optimisés, la lame de scie découpe et polit les matériaux simultanément, ce qui ouvre la voie à de nombreuses applications, de la fabrication de microcanaux aux microguides de lumière.
Avec cette technologie, le département d'optique propose une nouvelle génération de composants optiques miniatures confinant la lumière dans les membranes et la contrôlant avec des petits signaux électriques. Des transitions brevetées entre membrane et fibre assurent une connexion optique facile et à faibles pertes. Cette méthode de fabrication promet un fort impact dans la production de modulateurs miniatures, capteurs photoniques, capteurs physico-chimiques et lasers.
Les premiers micro-modulateurs électro-optiques ont été récompensés par le prix spécial du jury 2016 et sont présentés sur le stand FEMTO-ST au salon MICRONORA du 27 au 30 septembre à Besançon.
