To start the next school year, the Femto-ST Student Chapter will organize a trip to CERN in Geneva association. The European Organization for Nuclear Research is research organization whose purpose is to operate the world's largest particle physics laboratory. CERN is best known for its supply of the particle accelerators and other infrastructure needed for high-energy physics research.
This trip is definitely a great opportunity to embrace you with great scientific interest and with fundamental physics. We offer this on Saturday,6th September 2014, with a departure bus around 6:00 am at campus. The tour will take place at 9:00 am (it will be right on time) and last about three hours (general presentations and then visit parts of accelerators and / or sensors and / or data processing).
Lunch will be picnic or hot meal according to the desires. Afterwords we’ll go and walk around the globe and in the Microcosm before returning (to 15.00) to back to 17h30/18h00 Besançon
Femto-ST Student Chapter want to thank the support from International Society of Optics and Photonics (SPIE), the Optical Society (OSA) and Femto-ST.
