Louna Blasco

<p>I gaduated from the Université de Technologie de Compiègne with an Biological Engineering degree. I had the opportunity to complete my final-year project working on an organ-on-a-chip to model Drug-Induced-LIver-Injury. Driven by a strong interest in translational biology, I am passionate about connecting technological innovations with real-world applications in terms of human health and bioethics.</p><p>Eager to continue working in this dynamic field, I joined the FEMTO-ST Institute in February 2025, as a PhD student involved in the BioImp project. My research focuses on the <strong>development of a micro-physiological system to model human metastatic tissues as a novel platform to evaluate anti-cancer biodrug responses</strong>. Specifically, I aim to replicate the complexity of the tumor microenvironment in colorectal cancer liver metastasis, including vascularization, cell–cell interactions, and drug delivery mechanisms.</p><p>As part of this study, experiments with an innovative anti-cancer immunotherapy based on lymphocytes will be conducted. Quantitative outputs will be partially assessed using biosensors developed in parallel by a postdoctoral researcher. Ultimately, the goal is to evaluate the potential of this system as an ethical and effective alternative to animal models for preclinical testing.</p>
