Nadège Courjal

<p>Nadège Courjal received her Ph.D. in Engineering science from Besançon University in 2002. She became an associate professor at the FEMTO-ST Institute in Besançon in 2004. She leads activities on electro-optical micro and nanosystems, and she serves as associate professor of physics in Engineering Sciences and Microsystems for the ISIFC biomedical engineering school. Her field of research encompasses hybrid photonic systems, lithium-niobate-based components, and micro-opto-electro-mechanical systems. She also works on the high-resolution characterization of optical micro-components and nanostructures. She covers a broad application fields area, including E-field sensing, telecommunications, biomedical, space applications, and multimedia.</p><p>N. Courjal has established a track record in industry-driven innovation projects, financed by Technology Transfer Acceleration Companies (SATT-SAYENS), or by the BPI public investment bank. In particular, she introduced precise dicing as an enabling technology for producing photonic hybrid microsystems. She has worked on electro-optic sensors with Kapteos, chip-scale spectrometers with Resolution Spectra, low-chirp Mach-Zehnder Intensity modulators with iXBlue PSD, low-loss optical connections with Lovalite and PPLN with Thales and Cristal Laser. In 2016 she mounted an industrial strategy unit with the Innov'Health cluster. She is the co-inventor of three patent applications. Since 2020, she has been the leader of the SYRAH-lab joint laboratory, in partnership with Kapteos®, for boosting innovation on integrated electro-optic sensors.</p><p>Over the period 2011-2015, she was an appointed member of the French National Board of Universities (CNU) in the 63rd section in the field of photonics, optoelectronics, and electronics. From 2012 to 2016, she was an expert in nanophotonics at OMNT (Micro and Nanotechnology National Observatory). She was also on the committee board of the french national research agency (ANR) in the field of Micro and Nanotechnologies for information and communication processing from 2017 to 2019. She has been on the evaluation committee board of AcpPhast4.0 and ActPhast4R since 2019. She is now also on the PhotonHub committee board.</p><p>&nbsp;</p>
