Abstract : A reliable source of energy is essential for the industrial progress that underpins the economie development of any country. On the other hand, 20 to 50% of the energy production is dissipated in electrical equipment. In France, it is estimated, that more than 27 TWh of heat whose temperature is between 100 and 200°C is lost each year. Therefore, the recovery of this wasted heat is an invaluable way to decrease global energy lasses. Reliable heat-to-electricity converters are thus of major interest and would be a great solution for powering electronic systems such as wireless sensors without using batteries or other energy storage with a limited lifetime, often associated to an environmental pollution problem. A working prototype of microengine, capable of generating electricity from any source of heat could interest various industries such as automotive, aeronautics, microelectronics and telecommunications. In this work, it is proposed to investigate the possibility of using a miniature Stirling machines for this purpose. Stirling machines are thermodynamic machines working with an external heat supply, which allows them, unlike internai combustion machines, to operating with a wide variety of heat sources (solar heat, wasted heat or other heat sources generated from renewable energy). In "refrigerator" mode of this machine, an input mechanical work allows heat to be transported from a hot source to a cold source , which further cools the cold source. In "motor" mode, these reversible machines produce a mechanical movement from two sources of sufficiently different temperatures.
