Mini-workshop on the dynamical modelling of conversations

We will host an impromptu mini-workshop in amphi Jules Haag (ENSMM/Supmicrotech, Besançon), on Monday 10th July, 2pm, with two invited talks by prominent cognitive science researchers working on the dynamical modeling of conversations.

The study of social interactions between 2 people look a bit out of context for us in FEMTO-ST, but on a closer look these are signal-rich, coupled, probably non-linear dynamical systems which afford lots of methodological questions linked to complex systems, control theory, signal processing (video, audio), machine learning and multi-agent systems. They're also a central object of study in cognitive psychology/neuroscience, with lots of meaningful applications. Our two speakers are both trained in computer science/engineering, and working in cognitive science departments.
