Nicolas FABRE, Theoretical Quantum Optics : Seminar

We are pleased to welcome to the Department of Optics M. Nicolas Fabre, Post-Doc in the Theoretical Quantum Optics group of Luis Sanchez Soto at University Completes of Madrid (Spain) on Friday, October 21st, 2022.

That day, at 2pm in the Jean-Jacques Gagnepain auditorium, TEMIS Building, he will present a seminar to which you are cordially invited.

Abstract of the seminar: Various discrete degrees of freedom of single photons have been used in quantum protocols. We consider the time and the frequency not only as discrete but as continuous variables, and tackle all the hypotheses to consider them as so. We study the universal set of gates for this new encoding, and how such a set can be implemented experimentally. Finally, we will discuss a direct application of photon pairs in quantum sensing protocols for the estimation of time and frequency shifts.
