OPTIQUE - Diederik Sybolt WIERSMA - "From 3D printed microstructures to cell instructive scaffolds"

Optics Departmnent is honoured to announce Professeur Diederik Sybolt Wiersma, Department physics, University of Florence, European Laboratory for Non-linear Spectroscopy (LENS), Italy for a seminar entitled : "From 3D printed microstructures to cell instructive scaffolds"

Abstract : Elastormers are smart polymers that respond to external triggers like light and heat. We will discuss how it is possible to fabricate intricate microstructures from such materials and discuss various applications, including optical micro robots and hybrid structures that contain partially artificial and partially living muscle tissue.
