Les « nano voitures » font leur avant-première au Musée de l’Aventure Peugeot

Du 21 au 25 mars, FEMTO-ST a organisé au Musée de l’Aventure Peugeot à Sochaux le forum microscopie à sonde locale qui rassemble chaque année près de 150 scientifiques francophones des nanosciences.
A cette occasion, le groupe PSA Peugeot-Citroën a annoncé, en avant-première, le sponsoring de l'équipe française participant à la première course internationale de molécules-voitures "Nanocar race" qui se déroulera en octobre prochain à Toulouse.
C’est Christian Joachim du CNRS, l’organisateur de la course, accompagné de de Sylvain Allano (directeur scientifique et technologies futures chez PSA Peugeot Citroën) et Yvan Lambert ( directeur de PSA Sochaux) qui ont présenté ce challenge.
Véritable exploit scientifique, ces "nano-voitures" peuvent posséder de vraies roues, un vrai châssis et devront parcourir un circuit composé d'atomes d’or. Ces molécules-voitures d’un milliardième de mètre seront propulsées par l'énergie d'une impulsion électrique. Elles seront pilotées par 5 équipes internationales de chercheurs (allemandes, américaine, américano autrichienne, française et japonaise), et observées avec un microscope à effet tunnel sous ultra vide.
