La microrobotique, science fiction pour Disney, réalité pour FEMTO-ST

A l’occasion de la sortie du film « Les nouveaux héros », la nouvelle production issue des studios d’animation de Disney, l’institut FEMTO-ST sort son nouveau microrobot. Dans la lignée historique des robots MagPieR trois fois champions du monde de vitesse (2010, 2011 et 2012), c’est maintenant sur la dextérité que tout se joue. Le nouveau robot appelé MARTHAG embarque la plus petite pince du monde (inférieure à 1 mm2). Il est intégralement commandé à distance, par un laser pour actionner la pince et par champs magnétiques pour le déplacer. A terme, ce robot est destiné à effectuer des opérations dans des environnements confinés, et pourra par exemple trier des cellules biologiques. Le samedi 14 février vers 15h30, un chercheur de l’Institut FEMTO-ST présentera MARTHAG (MAgnetic microRobot with THermal Gripper) au jeune public à l’issue de la projection du film de robots de Disney au cinéma Mégarama d’Ecole Valentin. Ce sera l’occasion pour les spectateurs présents de découvrir la frontière entre fiction et réalité, et de discuter avec les chercheurs des enjeux de ces microrobots !
