    International Day of Light 2018
Following the success of the International Year of Light, which highlighted the importance of light-based science and technology and generated more than 13,000 activities in 147 countries, UNESCO proclaimed May 16 as the International Day of Light.
This day will be declined annually on a planetary scale. It aims to demonstrate the importance of light and its role in the promotion of science, art and culture, education and sustainable development, particularly in areas as diverse as medicine, communications and science. energy.
The FEMTO-ST Institute will contribute to highlighting this theme by organizing a conference to be held at FEMTO-ST on Thursday 26 April 2018.
It will consist of short interventions given by local guests who will discuss science and technology, laser history, photography and cosmology. A round table on the role of science in society will also be organized.
