Nicolas Andreff, receives the scientific award "Charles Defforey" from -Institut de France Foundation

Awarded May 30 under the Dome of the “ (Institut de France) " by Jean-Paul Laumond, a member of the Academy of Sciences, this Grand Prize crowns the work & skills of Nicolas and his team in the field of medical microrobotics

With 450 000 € funds, this prize concerned this year the topics "Mechanics, Robotics and Artificial Intelligence" and came to reward  the work of the Micro / Nano-Robotic Biomedical team (MiNaRoB: Mr. Gauthier, Mr. Dulmet, A. Bolopion, B. Tamadazte, K. Rabenorosoa, R. Dahmouche, P. Rougeot, C. Perrard and his numerous doctoral students) that Nicolas is the leader at FEMTO-ST Institute since 2012. A team that quickly gained an international reputation in the fields of contactless micromanipulation (lab-on-a-chip), surgical robotics (including vocal cord surgery, leading to the forthcoming creation of the Amarob start-up), robot guidance medical imaging (optical coherence tomography) and the design and control of intracorporeal micromechanisms.
