Temps-Fréquence : Record mondial de stabilité pour un oscillateur quartz : 2,5.10-14

Pour la première fois depuis une quinzaine d'années, le plancher de bruit d'un oscillateur à quartz a été amélioré significativement. C'est le résultat d'une collaboration entre Jacques Chauvin pour la société Oscilloquartz (Suisse), Alexander Kuna de l'Académie des Sciences (République tchèque) et Patrice Salzenstein, Ingénieur de Recherches CNRS au département Temps-Fréquence de FEMTO-ST. Le premier prototype de la nouvelle génération d'oscillateur quartz à Boitier à Vieillissement Amélioré (BVA) à 5 MHz mis au point en Suisse a été mesurée à 2,5.10-14 en terme de plancher de stabilité court terme de fréquence. Ce résultat ouvre un nouvel espoir de s'approcher un jour de la barre des 10-14.
