Conference 'Seizing the Opportunity in Nano-Photonics'
A conference concerning Photonics will take place in FEMTO-ST on Friday 3rd of April at 2pm.
Seizing the Opportunity in Nano-Photonics
Nano-scale manufacturing is revolutionizing photonics by providing unprecedented opportunities for research into exciting optical phenomena. In some cases, these same opportunities can lead to novel and improved optical devices of intense commercial interest. These opportunities also create design challenges: nano-photonic devices are becoming more and more complicated and miniaturized, including hybrid materials, and operating over broad wavelength ranges. In order to meet the design challenges presented by nano-photonics, an extremely efficient simulation tool must be used. In this talk, we will review some applications of Lumerical’s software products, from fundamental research in plasmonics and quantum computing to the optimization of current high-interest devices such as CMOS image sensors and photovoltaic cells.
Summer school in Microrobotics and Self-assembly for hybrid MEMS
The general context of the summer school concerns the micromanipulation and assembly of such complex microsystems. From the state-of-the-art, integration technologies for heterogeneous microsystems are based on Microrobotics or Self-assembly approaches.
