FEMTO-ST is launching its support program for MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships applications !

The Boostcamp is a two-day intensive workshop aimed at helping international researchers develop a strong application for the 2025 Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship.

FEMTO-ST is launching its first Boostcamp to attract top international researchers and support them in applying for the 2025 MSCA (Marie Skłodowska-Curie) Postdoctoral Fellowship. This personalized two-day online training, held on June 2 and 3, is designed to guide candidates through the application process and strengthen their proposals.

Are you thinking about your next professional step and looking to boost your career with a specific project you would like to investigate? Do you want to experience interdisciplinary, and international research in a French research group? Are you eager to conduct your research and enhance your skills in a place where industrial, environmental, societal, and digital transitions are prioritized?

Then, apply for a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship (MSCA) at FEMTO-ST!

We’re hosting an online Boostcamp to help you craft a strong application for the MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship and refine your research project. Get expert guidance, interactive support, and the keys to making your proposal stand out!

You will have the opportunity to join is the largest laboratory in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region and one of the largest institutes in engineering sciences in France with in one of the 7 departments:

What is the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship (MSCA PF)?

The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship (MSCA PF) supports promising postdoctoral researchers by helping them develop their academic skills, gain international experience, and strengthen their career prospects through mobility.

The funding covers the postdoctoral researcher’s salary as well as research environment costs, training, and networking expenses for a duration of 12 to 36 months. It also provides financial support through mobility and housing allowances.

The grantees will be announced in February 2026, with projects starting from April 2026.

What is the Boostcamp organized by FEMTO-ST all about?

The Boostcamp is a personalized two-day online training on June 2 and 3, designed to help you prepare a strong and competitive application for the MSCA-PF. We will dive deeper into the proposal writing process, and you will have the opportunity to enjoy one-on-one sessions with your potential future supervisor.

This program focuses on an interactive and participatory approach, ensuring an engaging learning experience. The mentoring will be particularly valuable, as candidates will integrate a renowned scientific community while benefit from in-depth scientific guidance from the lab’s experts.

Candidates will have full freedom in choosing their project and the opportunity to engage in interdisciplinary collaborations across multiple laboratories.

Why join FEMTO-ST?

At FEMTO-ST, research means excellence and interdisciplinarity. Research departements are open and interconnected, actively fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing among researchers.

FEMTO-ST in numbers:

  • 400 scientific articles published per year, and around one third co-authored with leading international partners
  • 400 research contracts annually
  • Multiple European Research Council (ERC) grant winners
  • An international environment: 36% of PhD students earned their Master’s degree abroad

A strong industrial culture: FEMTO-ST bridges academia and industry, working closely with major industrial groups such as Stellantis and Alstom, driving innovation through research valorization. The institute has fostered the creation of 24 spin-offs, generating over €40M in revenue.

An exceptional living environment: our research teams are spread across Besançon, Montbéliard and Belfort, cities offering an excellent quality of life with easy and affordable access to housing and transportation. Strategically located near Germany and Switzerland and surrounded by nature, FEMTO-ST provides a dynamic, internationally connected research environment.

Finally, the institute is committed to integrating new talent into its community of excellence, extending well beyond the duration of their fellowship funding.

That sounds really interesting! Can I join?

To take part in the Boostcamp, the eligibility criteria are the same as for the MSCA PF scholarship:

  • A PhD obtained or defended before the application deadline (before September 10, 2025)
  • A maximum of 8 years of postdoctoral research experience
  • Compliance with mobility rules: no more than 12 months of residence in France during the past 3 years

Your participation in the Boostcamp is completely free, but you will need to commit to submitting an MSCA PF application in collaboration with FEMTO-ST after the Boostcamp.

To apply, please submit your CV, a cover letter and a scientific proposal (2 pages max) including the department you would like to join, keywords, objectives and a summary to applications@femto-st.fr.

Application deadline: May 15th. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. As spots are limited, we encourage you to apply as soon as possible!
